How an ArtCrystal Tomeš Chandelier Lit Up the City Ball

Last weekend, the City Ball celebrating the 160th anniversary of Jablonec nad Nisou being granted city status took place at Eurocentrum. An evening full of music, dance, and festive atmosphere had one unmistakable centerpiece: a crystal chandelier from our showroom, which set out on a short but surprisingly demanding journey for just one night.
On the map, it looked trivial. Just 1.4 kilometers. About five minutes by car.

In reality, it meant 32 hours of work, two complete installations, and hundreds of crystal drops passing through the hands of our installers.
This was no small piece.
Diameter: 150 cm. Height: 2 meters. Weight: 90 kg. Number of bulbs: 57.
A crystal chandelier that normally lives a quiet life hanging in our showroom was about to become the heart of the dance floor.
We summarized the entire process in 53 seconds.
You can see more than 10 hours of work involved in assembling the chandelier before the ball in the video.
Dismantling: Drop by Drop
It all began in our showroom.
Our installers, Dáša and Jarda, got to work and dismantled the chandelier drop by drop, down to the very last rivet. Each crystal drop was carefully wrapped in paper, all components were systematically labeled, and the entire chandelier was packed so it could be transported safely.

Transport and Reinstallation at Eurocentrum
The dismantled chandelier made its way to Eurocentrum, where the ball was to take place. And there, the whole magic started again—this time in reverse.
With one important difference: now it was a race against time.
Our installers reassembled the chandelier drop by drop, crystal by crystal, exactly according to the original layout. Over four complete assembly cycles, around 6,000 crystal drops passed through their hands — two dismantlings and two reassemblies completed in just 32 hours.
Yes, even we later said it felt like a small technical miracle.

The Grand Central Ball and One Extra Detail
During the installation, special attention was given to the large central crystal ball suspended in the middle of the chandelier. Not only because it is visually striking, but mainly because it hangs directly above the space where hundreds of guests would be moving.
To ensure maximum safety, our colleague Dáša proposed and added an extra reinforcing element—a metal eyelet that secures the crystal ball with an even greater safety margin than standard requirements.
The Evening When Crystal Lit Up the Dance Floor
And then the evening arrived.
The festive atmosphere of the dance hall was illuminated by our crystal chandelier— with a diameter of 150 cm, a height of 2 meters, a weight of 90 kg, and 57 bulbs. In the glow of crystal, people danced late into the night.
Under its light, Oskar Hes and Kateřina Bartuněk Hrstková brought the dance floor to life, Ondřej Ruml was the guest of the evening, and the musical accompaniment was provided by the Ladislav Bareš Orchestra.

"The chandelier was absolutely exceptional and elevated the entire space to a completely new level,"
said Jakub Gerš, Director of Culture of the City of Jablonec.
And Back Home Again
After the ball came the final phase of the entire mission:
dismantle again, transport again, reassemble again.
Today, the chandelier is back in its place in our showroom—in all its glory, with an extra story to tell and a beautiful memory of the evening when it became part of the celebration of Jablonec's 160 shimmering years.
If you saw it at the ball and would like to admire it up close, we would be delighted to welcome you.
